Toyota Manufacturing UK employees to return to full-time working
Toyota Manufacturing UK has announced that its employees at Burnaston, Derbyshire & Deeside, North Wales will return to full time working from April 1st 2010.*
This announcement follows the conclusion of Toyota Manufacturing UK’s annual salary review process.**
In response to the current severe economic climate, the decision to freeze salary levels in 2010 was also reached.
In recognition of their flexibility and commitment, it was announced that all employees would receive an additional five days paid holiday to be used during the previously announced non production week, commencing 5th April 2010 and one extra floating day.
Tony Walker, Deputy Managing Director said: “The next year is key for Toyota Manufacturing UK, employees returning to full-time working and offering a voluntary release programme will allow us to adapt to the reduced market. We believe this decision will be welcomed by our employees, who have shown flexibility and commitment to the company during this difficult time.”

* Toyota Manufacturing UK has been operating a 10% reduction in hours and pay since 1st April 2009.
** Salary review process consists of three meetings between company representatives and employee representatives, where the company situation and the views of employees are understood and discussed to reach consensus.
It was previously announced that Toyota Manufacturing UK will offer a voluntary release programme in the second half of the year, to employees across the company, who wish to pursue other opportunities. There will be no compulsory redundancies.
